Surroundings
Beach House 43 is located in Herkingen, a small village on Goeree-Overflakkee. The village has a supermarket, a café, a pizzeria, and a bike rental shop. At Theetuin De Bongerd, you can enjoy a cup of coffee or tea with a delicious slice of cake in the garden or orchard.
Grevelingenmeer
A 10-minute walk from Beach House 43 takes you to the beautiful beach of the Grevelingenmeer, the largest saltwater lake in Europe. Water sports enthusiasts can indulge themselves here, but walkers, cyclists, and sunbathers will also find it the perfect spot. Walkers can spend hours exploring the vast Grevelingen area, which is a true bird paradise, and it’s not uncommon to encounter Heck cattle and Fjord horses. In the autumn and winter, you might even see wild flamingos at Slik Battenoord, as they stay here during this period every year.

You can also rent a bike trailer for your dog.

On the outskirts of Middelharnis, there is a large Jumbo supermarket with ample parking. A bit further along, you will find both a large supermarket and a hardware store, as the Lidl and Gamma are located next to each other.

Ouddorp is also known for its still-operational lighthouse, which is definitely worth a visit. Unfortunately, you can’t go inside, but you can take some beautiful photos.
